I will be presenting an Introduction to Developing and Deploying Custom Site Definitions to the NYC SharePoint User Group on Wednesday December 5th.

Presentation Synopsis:
Site Definitions have existed since WSS 2.0 but have been simplified with the introduction of Features in SharePoint 2007 (WSS & MOSS).  In this presentation I will be discussing the basics of Site Definitions and Feature creation along with with some tips & tricks on how to simplify the process. Along the way we'll touch on some of the advantages of developing Site Definitions over site customization. Finally we'll discuss how to use the Solution Framework to distribute your Site Definitions to your SharePoint Farm. The presentation will consist of mostly demo examples intermingled with some slides.

Thanks to Chris Regan, Jay Medero and Bob Fox at my partner company B&R Business Solutions for inviting me. The NYC SharePoint user group has a reputation for a very active community and I'm very much looking forward to presenting to an energetic crowd. Look forward to seeing everyone there.
